Finding an ideal way to "end" the workday...

Finding an ideal way to "end" the workday while working from home is difficult. The system's that worked for me, though, has just two simple components:" "" "1) Work standard hours. I've defined my working time for LinkedIn as 8 am - 4 pm, and while I might occasionally check slack on my phone outside those hours, I don't log into company VPN outside those hours." "" "2) Use my workout as a way to untangle my brain from work: I start my daily workout at 4 pm. Even though my workout space is right next to my desk (yay, New York apartments, lol), after my warm-up, all I can think about is my heart rate, my breathing, and the next exercise." "" "That's it! Once my workout is done, my mind has shifted from my day's work and is already thinking about what I'll do tomorrow. Of course, those thoughts are paired with more routine activities like showering, walking my dog, and making dinner. After all that, I'm ready to relax and not think about LinkedIn again until the following day." "" "Admittedly this works for me because I'm a morning person, so my best work hours are 8 am-noon, and I love afternoon workouts. If that's not your jam, perhaps there's a different but similar set of actions that can help you "end" your workday at home #bendevtip #mentalhealth
