Time management is often on my mind, especially...

Time management is often on my mind, especially after recently reading 4,000 Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. What's interesting to me is that one of the analogies referenced in the book about time is often compared to a currency. The author discusses how this is a bad comparison and how we can't spend time the same way we spend money. For example, if you start with three hours for a task and get distracted, that time will vanish, but the cash you had in your wallet will still be there after those three hours." "" "One thing we discussed in our book club about the book is how it goes further than just that. We, as humans, are not equally productive all the time. Some of us are morning people (me!), others night owls, and many more somewhere in the middle. If we were to continue the analogy of comparing time to money, that'd be like your five-dollar bill being twice as valuable at certain times of the day. Some will argue that's what happy hour is, but I think we might be getting a little too deep into the analogy there." "" "The critical point here concerning time management is to figure out when you are most productive and manage your time around your best tendencies. For me, that means getting most of my coding and writing done in the mornings since that's when I'm most productive #bendevtip
