During the end of the recent boom cycle, big tech was hiring aggressively -- these layoffs we're seeing are the result of overly aggressive hiring; now that things are tightening up, it's become clear that many companies overdid it." "" "These companies didn't necessarily need all that talent, either, but they had the cash reserves and the long-term vision to try and take talent off the board, so to speak.
