As we enter this week of Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to give thanks for all the support and feedback I've received while building Sentitrac. As I mentioned in my post last week, building a business as a side gig is hard, but I continue to be so excited to work on Sentitrac because of the potential I know it has and how it intrigues and excites just about everyone I talk to about it. " "" "Last week, I also launched Sentitrac on Product Hunt, which provided additional feedback, both positive and negative. The positive is that I received more upvotes and comments than expected, with some interesting suggestions on how to grow the business further. Some I had already been thinking about, such as selling Sentitrac to betting companies that may find the higher accuracy projections a valuable asset for their businesses. " "" "Others I hadn't thought of, like printing flyers with a QR code and plastering those flyers around office break rooms nationwide. If anyone knows of a service that has access to office break rooms, let me know because I don't think I'll have time in the near term to get in my car and drive around putting up flyers!" "" "The negative is that even with all this attention, there's been only a tiny uptick in user signups on Sentitrac. I had expected a higher rate of signups since removing the need to add payment details until after the free trial everyone receives ends, but that's not quite materialized. " "" "I have a strong suspicion as to why, though. First, using sentiment analysis as a fantasy projection feature is still very new, and the product itself still has rough edges, but second, I don't have the pricing for Sentitrac quite right yet, and I'll need to adjust that soon. Unfortunately for me, updating the pricing isn't as easy as it sounds; there are many little edge cases to handle.
