Focus, like most things, means different things in...

Focus, like most things, means different things in different contexts. At a big company, like my day job at LinkedIn, there are several of these contexts. For an individual, focus is about having the time to spend on a specific, longer-running project. For a team, it's about a particular goal, while "focus" rapidly changes shape for the organization more broadly. That's a result of the size, though! " "" "For Sentitrac, my side project, I recently realized I needed to be more focused. That's at the core of the pivot to B2B we started ~two months ago. The long-term for Sentitrac was always B2B, but the initial idea was that by first going B2C, we could be our own first customer and establish the value that businesses would be willing to pay for. " "" "I quickly learned that it is quite hard to do B2C and B2B simultaneously, and the energy needed to succeed in B2C would derail progress in the B2B business. I also discovered that my products require a fair amount of education to ensure folks understand the value they can truly unlock with the wisdom of the crowd. " "" "So why distract myself with this B2C idea when I could focus on educating a few business customers and truly delivering value to them? " "" "That's how the Sentitrac B2B pivot came about, combined with excellent timing from 3Point0 Labs, our first business customer! We're in the zone building things out and I'm so excited to share more as we go!
