AI today is so interesting. There's so much...

AI today is so interesting. There's so much hype that everyone is saying, "This is the worst it'll ever be," constantly -- and while it's not wrong, it also feels like a cop-out. " "" "The AI products we use today will likely continue to evolve rapidly over the next few years and get better. That doesn't mean they'll get to the level of autonomy and sophistication in operation described in that time frame. " "" "There's also the inter-related notion that everyone will be a builder and build their own solutions to their problems. While I respect the optimism of thinking that everyone wants to create solutions to their problems, it's not realistic. Most people want to be given solutions that work so they don't have to think about it. " "" "The reality is that even builders, I consider myself one, want tools and services for the areas outside their expertise. Sure, I could build my own calorie counting app if I wanted to, but (a) that would still take me time, and (b) the app I pay for does it way better than I probably could in the time I'd have to spend doing so. " "" "All that to say, there's a massive amount of product overhang currently available to build upon, which is where the frothiness and hype come from, so I get it, but it just feels excessive at times!
